Google Slides presentations

Introduction

Google Slides is InfoBox's first connected integration: instead of pasting a public URL, you connect your Google account once and import presentations straight from Google Drive. Every slide in the presentation becomes its own slide on the screen, and InfoBox re-imports the presentation on a schedule, so edits made in Google Slides reach your screens automatically. Both native Google Slides presentations and PowerPoint (.pptx) files stored in Drive work.

How it works

The key facts:

• InfoBox imports an exported copy of each slide, so content keeps playing on screens even if the Google connection is later removed.
• All slides are imported and kept in sync. Slides you skip in the presentation are imported as hidden slides in InfoBox.
• The imported slides form a managed group on the screen, marked Synced from Google Slides.
• The Google connection is organization-wide. Admins manage it on the Integrations page (sidebar → Integrations).
• Google Slides import is available on Pro screens.

Step 1: Connect your Google account

Two places to connect:

• Integrations page (admins): click Integrations in the sidebar, find the Google Slides connection card, and click Connect Google account.
• While adding content: on a Pro screen, click Add new slide, open the Integrations category, pick Google Slides, and click Connect Google account.
• Either way, you're sent to Google's sign-in and back to InfoBox once you approve access. The status pill on the Integrations page shows Connected when the link is active.

Step 2: Import a presentation

On the screen where you want the presentation:

• Click Add new slide and open the Integrations category.
• Pick Google Slides. Your Drive presentations are listed with a slide count each, and PowerPoint files are labelled PowerPoint presentation. Use the search box to find the right one.
• Click a presentation to import it. Each slide in the presentation becomes its own slide on the screen.
• Publish the screen as usual once the slides are in.

Keeping content in sync

Imported presentations update in two ways:

• Automatically: InfoBox re-imports the presentation on an interval, 60 minutes by default and 5 minutes at minimum. Change the interval in the slide group's sync settings in the screen editor, or in the Auto sync column on the Integrations page.
• Manually: click Sync on the slide group in the screen editor, or Sync now on the Integrations page, to pull the latest version immediately.
• Each run's result shows in the Sync status column: Success, No changes, or Error.
• Slides added or removed in Google Slides are added or removed on the screen too, and skipped slides stay hidden.

Unlinking and disconnecting

Three levels of removal:

• Remove one presentation: on the Integrations page, click Remove on the presentation's row. Its managed slides are deleted from the screen.
• Disconnect the Google account: click Disconnect on the Google Slides connection card. Slides already on screens remain but no longer receive updates.
• Reconnect later: click Connect Google account again. Linked presentations can sync again.

Troubleshooting

Common Google Slides integration issues:

• 'Your Google session has expired': click Reconnect Google account and sign in again. Content keeps playing on screens in the meantime.
• Import produces no slides: Google returned no exportable pages for the presentation. Open it in Google Slides, check it actually has slides, and try the import again.
• Sync status shows Error: run Sync now once more. If the error persists, reconnect the Google account. If the presentation was deleted or unshared in Drive, remove the link and re-import.

Summary

Connect once, import from Drive, and InfoBox keeps the presentation in sync: every 60 minutes by default, or instantly with Sync. Works with both Google Slides and PowerPoint files. Disconnecting keeps the slides on screens but stops updates. Available on Pro screens.
