Introduction
InfoBox is a digital signage platform that lets you manage content on screens remotely through a web-based dashboard. The system consists of two main parts: the InfoBox Platform (web application) and the InfoBox Digital Signage (Android TV application). You manage screens and content in the web platform, and InfoBox Digital Signage displays that content on physical screens.
Main Parts of the System
InfoBox consists of the following parts:
- InfoBox Platform: a browser-based dashboard where you manage screens, upload content, create slides, and control everything remotely.
- InfoBox Digital Signage: an Android TV application that runs on any compatible Android device connected to a display. It downloads and displays your content automatically.
- InfoBox Stick (optional): a compact hardware device connected to a screen via HDMI. Only needed if your screen isn't already Android-compatible (Android TV, Android stick, etc.).
How It Works
The typical workflow is simple:
- Upload media (images, videos, PDFs, etc.) to the Platform.
- Create slides from the uploaded media.
- Arrange slides in the desired order on a screen.
- The Android device automatically downloads the updated slideshow.
- Content displays in a continuous loop on the connected screen.
- Changes made in the Platform propagate to screens automatically.
Key Features
The platform includes the following capabilities:
- Remote management via browser from anywhere
- Support for images, videos, PDFs, web pages (iFrame), and Power BI dashboards
- Content scheduling with start and end times
- Screen groups for managing multiple displays at once
- Offline support: screens cache content locally and keep displaying even without internet
- Two user roles: Admin (full access) and User (manages assigned screens and content)
Summary
InfoBox makes managing digital signage simple and affordable. Control screens remotely, update content instantly, and manage multiple displays, all from one dashboard.
