Slide settings

Introduction

Every slide on a screen or in a playlist has its own settings. These per-slide settings override the screen-level or playlist-level defaults, giving you fine control over individual pieces of content. Everything here is a draft until you click Publish.

Opening slide settings

Find the controls:

• In the screen editor or playlist editor, each slide card carries its actions: duration, Schedule, Hide, Change, Duplicate, and Delete.
• Click the card to expand its details. Use the Show details (FI: Näytä tiedot) toggle to see the full information.
• Cards work the same in list view and grid view.

Slide duration

How long the slide shows before transitioning:

• Slide duration (FI: Vaihtoaika) sets per-slide play time in seconds.
• If left unset, the slide uses the screen's default duration.
• Videos play for their full length by default. Set an explicit duration when the playlist takes part in synchronized playback, so every screen agrees on the loop length.
• PDFs apply the duration to each page (each page is its own slide).

Image rotation

Rotate image slides for orientation mismatches:

• Rotation values: 0° (no rotation), 90° (counterclockwise), 180° (upside down), 270° (clockwise).
• Useful when you have a portrait screen but landscape source images, or vice versa.
• Rotation only applies to image slides.

Visibility

Show or hide a slide without deleting it:

• Visible (FI: Näkyvissä): the default state. The slide plays in rotation.
• Hidden (FI: Piilotettu): the slide is skipped at playback. The Hide slide action asks for confirmation.
• Useful for staging upcoming content, or pulling a specific slide temporarily.
• A hidden slide never plays, whatever its schedule says. The preview tool flags hidden slides explicitly.

Changing a slide's image or video

Swap the media without rebuilding the slide:

• Click Change on the slide and pick a different image or video (or a PDF page from the library).
• The slide's other settings are preserved: schedule, duration, and visibility stay as they were.
• This works in both the screen editor and the playlist editor.
• One playlist-editor caveat: you can't upload a raw PDF file while changing a slide there; pick an already-processed page from the Media Library instead.

Duplicating a slide

Click Duplicate on the card to copy the slide right after the original, with the same duration, schedule, visibility, and rotation. The copy is a draft until you publish. See Duplicating slides and editing many at once for bulk actions too.

Per-slide schedule

Time-bound when a slide plays:

• Schedule (FI: Ajasta) opens the schedule window for that slide.
• Pick a mode: Always visible, Date and time (a start and an optional end), or Weekdays and time (per-day windows).
• Choose Show content or Hide content.
• In Date and time mode with an end set, tick Delete the slide when the end date passes for one-off content.
• A scheduled slide shows a blue Scheduled (FI: Ajastettu) button, a clock badge that's green while the slide is currently shown and red while it isn't, and pills with the dates or weekdays.

Transition speed (screen-level, not per-slide)

How fast slides fade between each other:

• Transition speed (FI: Siirtymä nopeus) is set on the screen, not per slide.
• Configured in the Screen settings panel, in milliseconds.
• Applies to all slide transitions on that screen.

Website slide specifics

Extra settings for URL-based slides (the iFrame slide type):

• Website URL: the address shown. Change it with the Change action; a live preview shows how it renders.
• Refresh interval (in minutes): how often the website is reloaded. Useful for live data dashboards.
• Auto-reload: whether the URL refreshes when the slide replays in the loop.
• Bus and train schedule slides are Website slides with a 6-hour refresh by default; the displays update themselves.

Summary

Per-slide settings cover duration, rotation, visibility, and schedule, plus Change and Duplicate. The transition between slides is set at the screen level. Use visibility and scheduling for staging content; use rotation for orientation mismatches; use duration to control pacing. Publish when done.
