Slide settings

Per-slide controls for duration, rotation, visibility, and schedule.

Introduction

Every slide on a screen or in a playlist has its own settings panel. These per-slide settings override the screen-level or playlist-level defaults, giving you fine control over individual pieces of content.

Opening slide settings

Find the panel:

  • In the screen editor (FI: Muokkaa näytön sisältöä) or playlist editor (FI: Muokkaa soittolistaa), click any slide.
  • The settings panel for that slide opens, showing all available options for the slide type.
  • Use the Show details (FI: Näytä tiedot) toggle to see the full information.

Tip

The preview tool tells you when a slide will be skipped, either because it's hidden or outside its schedule. Use the preview to verify your slideshow before publishing.

Slide duration

How long the slide shows before transitioning:

  • Slide duration (FI: Vaihtoaika) sets per-slide play time in seconds.
  • If left unset, the slide uses the screen's default duration.
  • Videos automatically play for their full length, no manual duration needed.
  • PDFs apply the duration to each page (each page is its own sub-slide).

Image rotation

Rotate image slides for orientation mismatches:

  • Rotation values: 0° (no rotation), 90° (counterclockwise), 180° (upside down), 270° (clockwise).
  • Useful when you have a portrait screen but landscape source images, or vice versa.
  • Rotation only applies to image slides.

Visibility

Show or hide a slide without deleting it:

  • Visible (FI: Näkyvissä): the default state. The slide plays in rotation.
  • Hidden (FI: Piilotettu): the slide is skipped at playback.
  • Useful for staging upcoming content, or pulling a specific slide temporarily.
  • The preview tool flags hidden slides explicitly: "Preview skipped: hidden on devices."

Per-slide schedule

Time-bound when a slide plays:

  • Schedule slide (FI: Ajasta) opens the scheduling panel for that slide.
  • Set a date range (FI: Tietty ajanjakso) with start and end dates.
  • Pick specific days of the week (FI: Viikonpäivät).
  • Set a daily time window (e.g. only between 11:00–14:00).
  • When scheduled, the slide shows a Scheduled (FI: Ajastettu) badge in the editor.
  • Full details: see Scheduling basics.

Note

Per-slide schedule is independent from playlist-level schedule. If a playlist has its own schedule and individual slides also have schedules, the slide schedule applies only when both are active. See Scheduling basics for the full picture.

Transition speed (screen-level, not per-slide)

How fast slides fade between each other:

  • Transition speed (FI: Siirtymä nopeus) is set on the screen, not per slide.
  • Configured in the Screen settings panel, in milliseconds.
  • Applies to all slide transitions on that screen.

iFrame and Power BI specifics

Extra settings for URL-based slides:

  • Refresh interval: how often the embedded URL re-loads. Useful for live data dashboards.
  • Auto-reload: whether the URL refreshes when the slide replays in the loop.

Summary

Per-slide settings cover duration, rotation, visibility, and schedule. The transition between slides is set at the screen level. Use visibility and scheduling for staging content; use rotation for orientation mismatches; use duration to control pacing.
