Setup overview: choose your path

A quick guide to figuring out which setup path matches your hardware.

Introduction

InfoBox runs the same way on three different kinds of devices: an InfoBox Basic stick (sold by us), a native Android digital signage display, or your own Android TV or Android stick. The setup steps differ depending on which one you have. This article helps you find the right path in under a minute.

Choose your path

Pick the path that matches your situation:

  • Path 1: InfoBox Basic device. A small Android stick we sell for 59 €/kpl. We install InfoBox Digital Signage and connect it to your account before shipping. Your only job is to plug it in and connect it to WiFi.
  • Path 2: Native Android display, supplied by us. A commercial Android-based display we ship with InfoBox Digital Signage pre-installed and pre-paired. Same customer steps as Path 1.
  • Path 2b: Native Android display, bought elsewhere. You install InfoBox Digital Signage on the screen yourself (we send you the APK file) and then pair the screen to the Platform.
  • Path 3: Your own Android device. Any compatible Android TV, Android stick, or Android tablet. You install the InfoBox Digital Signage app from Google Play yourself and then pair the device to the Platform.

Before any of the paths

Make sure of the following before you start:

  • You have a valid InfoBox Platform license. If you don't yet, see infoboxi.com/pricing.
  • Our team has set up your organization on the Platform and provisioned the screens you ordered. Customers cannot add new screens themselves.
  • You have your WiFi network name and password handy at the screen's location.

What happens after setup

Once your screen is Online on the Platform, you're ready to add content. Continue with:
