Introduction

The InfoBox Basic device is a compact Android stick we sell for 59 €/kpl. When you order it from us, we install InfoBox Digital Signage and connect it to your organization's account before shipping. Your only job is to plug it in and connect it to WiFi. From there, the screen appears Online in your Platform automatically.

What's in the box

When you unbox the InfoBox Basic, you'll find:

  • InfoBox Basic stick
  • Remote control with batteries
  • USB-C power supply
  • HDMI cable
  • Quick start guide

Tip

If you ordered multiple Basic devices, label them physically with masking tape (e.g. "Office 1", "Cafeteria") as you unbox. It saves a lot of confusion later when they all show up in the Platform.

Step 1: Connect to a screen

Connect the stick to a TV or display:

  • Plug the HDMI cable into the InfoBox Basic and into a free HDMI port on your screen or TV.
  • Connect the USB-C power supply to the stick and to a power outlet.
  • Switch the screen's input to the matching HDMI port (e.g. HDMI 1).
  • The screen displays the InfoBox start screen within a few seconds.

Step 2: Connect to WiFi

Use the included remote control:

  • Press the Home button on the remote.
  • Open the Settings menu.
  • Open Network or WiFi settings.
  • Pick your WiFi network from the list and enter the password.
  • When connected, the device returns to InfoBox Digital Signage automatically.

Note

InfoBox Digital Signage opens automatically once WiFi is connected. You don't need to launch it manually.

Step 3: Verify the screen on the Platform

Confirm the screen is Online:

  • Sign in to app.infoboxi.com.
  • Open InfoBox screens from the side menu.
  • Find the screen we provisioned for you. Its status changes from Offline to Online within 1–2 minutes of connecting WiFi.
  • If you'd like, click the screen and rename it to something descriptive (e.g. "Lobby display", "Cafeteria screen").

Step 4: Place the device

Final placement tips:

  • Mount the stick behind the screen using mounting tape or a wall bracket.
  • Make sure the WiFi signal is strong enough at that location.
  • Make sure the stick is in a well-ventilated spot, not enclosed in a sealed cabinet.

If something doesn't work

Quick checks:

  • Screen stays black: check the HDMI input setting on the TV.
  • Status stays Offline: try restarting the stick by unplugging the power for 10 seconds, then reconnecting.
  • Can't find your WiFi network: see WiFi setup.
  • Still stuck: contact kasper@infoboxi.com with the screen name and your organization name.

What's next

Your screen is ready. Continue with:

  • Adding slides to a screen
  • Connect Device and Device ID (only relevant if you ever swap to different hardware)
