Mounting tips
How to position the stick:
- The stick is light and small enough to mount behind the screen using mounting tape or a small bracket.
- Make sure the stick is in a well-ventilated spot. Don't enclose it in a sealed cabinet.
- Make sure WiFi signal reaches the stick's mounting location.
Things to be aware of
Limits and trade-offs:
- 8 GB storage is enough for typical signage content (a few hundred images, dozens of videos under 5 minutes each). For unusually long videos or very large libraries, plan for more frequent cache rotation.
- Without Ethernet, the stick depends fully on WiFi reliability. For mission-critical installations, consider Ethernet-capable hardware on request.
Summary
The InfoBox Basic is a compact, no-frills Android stick optimized for digital signage. The 8 GB storage and 2 GB RAM are sufficient for most use cases. For a custom or higher-spec setup, contact kasper@infoboxi.com.
