Introduction

This article covers the technical specifications of the InfoBox Basic device, the small Android stick we sell for 59 €/kpl. If you're using a native Android display or your own Android device instead, see the relevant setup article for compatibility requirements.

Technical specifications

Key specs:

  • Storage: 8 GB internal.
  • RAM: 2 GB.
  • Connectivity: WiFi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). No Ethernet on the standard Basic. Contact us if you need Ethernet.
  • Video output: HDMI.
  • Power: USB-C, 5 V / 2 A power supply included.
  • Operating system: Android TV.
  • Form factor: compact stick.

Note

InfoBox Basic specs may improve over time as we update the hardware. Existing units stay supported with the same InfoBox Digital Signage for the duration of your subscription.

What ships in the box

Each Basic includes:

  • InfoBox Basic stick
  • Remote control with batteries
  • USB-C power supply
  • HDMI cable
  • Quick start guide

Mounting tips

How to position the stick:

  • The stick is light and small enough to mount behind the screen using mounting tape or a small bracket.
  • Make sure the stick is in a well-ventilated spot. Don't enclose it in a sealed cabinet.
  • Make sure WiFi signal reaches the stick's mounting location.

Things to be aware of

Limits and trade-offs:

  • 8 GB storage is enough for typical signage content (a few hundred images, dozens of videos under 5 minutes each). For unusually long videos or very large libraries, plan for more frequent cache rotation.
  • Without Ethernet, the stick depends fully on WiFi reliability. For mission-critical installations, consider Ethernet-capable hardware on request.

Summary

The InfoBox Basic is a compact, no-frills Android stick optimized for digital signage. The 8 GB storage and 2 GB RAM are sufficient for most use cases. For a custom or higher-spec setup, contact kasper@infoboxi.com.
