Introduction
Every screen in the Platform has its own settings panel. These screen-level settings define defaults that apply to every slide on that screen unless a per-slide override is set.
Opening screen settings
Find the panel:
- Sign in to app.infoboxi.com.
- Open InfoBox screens (FI: InfoBox näytöt) from the side menu.
- Click the screen you want to configure.
- Click Screen settings (FI: Näytön asetukset) in the editor.
Available settings
Configure the following:
- Width / Height (FI: Leveys / Korkeus): the screen's resolution in pixels. Default: 1920×1080.
- Screen direction (FI: Näytön suunta): Landscape (Vaaka, default), Upside down (Ylösalaisin, 180°), Portrait left (Pysty vasen, 90° counterclockwise), Portrait right (Pysty oikea, 90° clockwise).
- Slide duration (FI: Vaihtoaika): default seconds per slide. Per-slide overrides win.
- Transition speed (FI: Siirtymä nopeus): the fade between slides, in milliseconds.
- Screen description (FI: Näytön kuvaus): internal notes (location, purpose). Not shown to viewers.
- Screen group (FI: Näyttö ryhmä): which group(s) the screen belongs to. See Screen Groups for what groups actually do.
Choosing the right orientation
Match the screen direction setting to your physical display:
- Vaaka (landscape) is the default and right for most installations.
- Pysty vasen / Pysty oikea: pick based on which side of the physical display is the top after rotating.
- Ylösalaisin is rare. Use it when the display is mounted upside down.
- After changing orientation, your slides automatically adjust. If the content was designed for the wrong orientation, edit each slide's rotation (see Slide settings).
Renaming the screen
Use a descriptive name from day one:
- Click the rename button (FI: Vaihda nimi) at the top of the screen editor.
- Enter a clear, location-based name (e.g. "Aulan näyttö", "Kahvilan näyttö", "Helsinki ravintola 1").
- Click Save (FI: Tallenna).
- Good names save hours when you have more than 5 screens.
Summary
Screen settings cover resolution, orientation, default slide duration, transition speed, and group membership. Per-slide settings override the screen-level defaults where they conflict.
