The Needs attention bell

The bell in the top bar lists what needs a look: unpublished changes, unused or soon-to-be-purged files, screens without a device, and offline screens.

Introduction

The bell icon in the top bar is a to-do list the Platform builds for you. A red badge shows how many items are waiting (9+ when there are more than nine). Click it to open the Needs attention (FI: Vaatii huomiota) panel. When there's nothing to do, it says "All clear, nothing needs attention". Every signed-in user sees the bell; it only lists screens and folders you have access to.

What it lists

Four kinds of items, each linking to the place where you fix it:

  • Unpublished changes (FI: Julkaisemattomat muutokset): one row per screen with draft edits that haven't been published. Click to open the screen and press Publish.
  • Media (FI: Media): "N unused files to review" opens the Media Library with the Unused filter on, and "N files permanently deleted within 7 days" opens the Deleted view so you can restore anything you still need. See Trash, restore, and unused media.
  • Screens without a device (FI: Näytöt ilman laitetta): screens that have never been paired. Click to open the screen and connect a device.
  • Offline screens (FI: Näytöt offline-tilassa): paired screens that aren't reachable right now. See Checking device status.

Items clear themselves

There is no read/unread state and nothing to dismiss:

  • Fix the condition and the row disappears on the next refresh: publish the screen, restore or delete the file, pair the device, or bring the screen back online.
  • The list is rebuilt from live data every time, so it can't go stale.
  • Admins tune the unused-media reminder with the review delay in Company Settings.

Summary

The bell is a derived, self-clearing list of unpublished screens, media to review, unpaired screens, and offline screens. Click an item, fix it, and it's gone.
