Weekday time windows

Introduction

Most lunch menus aren't served at the same hours every day. A typical Finnish restaurant serves lunch 11:00–14:00 on weekdays, 12:00–15:00 on Saturdays, and is closed on Sundays. The Weekdays and time mode handles this on a single slide: tick the days, and give each day its own time window or the whole day.

When to use this

Reach for Weekdays and time when:

• Different opening hours per day, the common case for restaurants, gyms, and retail.
• Some days all day, others time-limited: weekdays all day, Saturday only in the morning.
• Recurring announcements: the same slide every Monday morning, every Friday afternoon, and so on.
• Anything that repeats weekly. Content with a calendar start and end uses Date and time instead, see Scheduling basics.

How to set it up

Open the slide's schedule:

• Click Schedule (FI: Ajasta) on the slide, or Schedule playlist on a playlist.
• Pick Weekdays and time (FI: Viikonpäivät ja aika) at the top of the window.
• Tick each day the slide should play. A ticked day starts with the default window 08:00–16:00.
• Adjust the start and end time on each row, or tick All day (FI: Koko päivä) to play the whole day.
• Leave the days it shouldn't play unticked.
• Click Save schedule, then Publish.

All day vs a time window

Each ticked day is one of two things:

• All day: the slide plays the entire day on that weekday.
• Time window: a start and end time for that weekday only. A window that ends before it starts, for example 22:00–02:00, runs past midnight into the next day.
• Mix freely: Saturday All day, Mon–Fri 11:00–14:00, Sunday unticked.

Step-by-step: lunch menu with weekend hours

A worked example:

• Open the lunch-menu slide and click Schedule.
• Pick Weekdays and time.
• Tick Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri and set each to 11:00–14:00.
• Tick Sat and set it to 12:00–15:00.
• Leave Sun unticked.
• Keep Show content selected. Click Save schedule, then Publish.
• The slide card now shows pills like Mon 11:00–14:00 for each day.

Interactions with other settings

What still applies:

• Show or hide applies. Pick Hide content to turn the weekday windows into hide-windows: the slide plays at every other time.
• Date and time can't be combined with weekdays on the same slide. To run a weekday pattern only for a limited period, put the slides in a playlist, schedule the slides by weekday, and schedule the playlist on the screen by date. See Playlist scheduling vs slide scheduling.
• Visibility is separate. A slide set to Hidden never plays, whatever its schedule.

Troubleshooting

Common weekday issues:

• Slide plays at the wrong hours: the device follows its own clock and time zone.
• Slide doesn't play on the expected day: check that the day is ticked and that its window covers the current time.
• The slide shows as Always visible after saving: you picked Weekdays and time but didn't tick any day. Tick at least one day and save again.
• Saved but nothing changed on screen: click Publish at the top of the editor.

Summary

Weekdays and time lets one slide handle different hours per day: all day on some days, a time window on others. The lunch-menu pattern (Mon–Fri 11–14, Sat 12–15, no Sunday) is the most common real-world use.
