Factory Reset

How to reset your InfoBox device to factory settings.

2 min readLast updated: May 2026

Introduction

A factory reset restores the InfoBox device to its original state. This can be useful if the device is unresponsive, has persistent issues, or needs to be reassigned to a different account. Use this as a last resort after trying other troubleshooting steps.

Before You Reset

Keep in mind:

  • A factory reset will erase all locally cached content on the device.
  • The device will need to be set up again (WiFi connection, etc.).
  • Your content on InfoBox Platform is not affected: it remains in the cloud.
  • After reset, the device will reconnect to the Platform and re-download its content.

Warning

Factory reset erases all local data on the device. Make sure you've tried other troubleshooting steps first (restart, WiFi reconnection, content refresh).

How to Factory Reset

Follow these steps:

  • Connect a keyboard and mouse to the InfoBox device.
  • Press ESC to open the settings menu.
  • Navigate to Device Settings or System Settings.
  • Select Factory Reset or Reset to defaults.
  • Confirm the reset.
  • The device will restart and show the initial setup screen.
  • Reconnect to WiFi and the device will re-register on the Platform.

After the Reset

Once the device restarts:

  • Set up WiFi again as described in the WiFi Setup article.
  • The device will reconnect to InfoBox Platform automatically.
  • Previously assigned content will be re-downloaded.
  • If the device doesn't appear on the Platform, contact support at support@infoboxi.com.

Summary

Factory reset is a last-resort solution for persistent device issues. Your cloud content is safe: only the local device cache is cleared.
